Job Description: The Deputy Director is a senior position on the Development team and will work in close collaboration with the Director of Development to execute successful fundraising events and facilitate growth and retention of the donor base. Specifically, they will manage all fundraising events – including three large-scale events in New York, Los Angeles and Provincetown, MA as well as multiple smaller house parties and cultivation events across the country. In addition, they will be responsible for the strategy and management of our direct appeal campaigns to facilitate the acquisition, growth, and retention of overall donor base. He/she will also oversee operational systems of the Development Department including the database, gift entry and acknowledgement, department administration, budget management, and policies and procedures.

Qualifications Needed: “Can do” attitude, committed to justice and equality for LGBT families, proven ability to build productive and collaborative working relationships across broad communities of diverse people. Bachelor’s degree. Five years’ experience in fundraising, preferably involving politics, policy, activism, or advocacy. Understanding of nonprofit resource development & fundraising. Experience successfully directing staff and volunteers. Computer proficiency, including database management. Travel required (in and out of state).
