Organization Information: Girls On The Run Rhode Island is dedicated to improving the lives and opportunities of girls from third to eighth grades. The program provides a safe and interactive way to learn about healthy living which includes an introduction and education on important topics such as goal-setting, cooperation, healthy decision making, and self-respect, all while training for a 5K event. Girls are given the tools to make positive choices for a healthy body and mind, while reducing the many risks they face today.

Job Description: The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for managing all of the Girls On The Run programs and volunteers. Some key responsibilities include (click under the cut to read the full listing):

  • Implement the Girls On The Run strategic program plan and achieve program goals
  • Market program to potential new sites
  • Work with community leaders, schools, and other groups 
  • Coordinate all new and existing sites
  • Enforce all current site policies and procedures
  • Generate innovation and improvement as needed
  • Ensure all program sites are staffed with qualified volunteer coaches
  • Manage all aspects of coach training (including CPR & First Aid, and background checks)
  • Generate continuous coaching improvement and enforce policies/procedures
  • Purchase and distribute all curriculum materials; manage inventory and distribution
  • Work with Executive Director to develop and manage program budget
  • Data collection and information management of rosters, girls, numbers, and revenue
  • Manage all coach files, site files, and other program related paperwork

Annual salary is $15,000. Work is 20 hours a week. No medical benefits included.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree
  • Passion for mission; ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image, and whole-person health
  • Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make efficient decisions
  • Flexible and adaptable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Girls On The Run (or othe similar youth/wellness programs)
  • Non-profit management experience
  • Fundraising experience
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Connections to the local community
